In my work with churches across GTBN, I’m often asked where to find persons willing to serve. Whether the congregation is seeking a pastor, other staff member, or even a teacher for youth or kids’ Bible study, many congregations find it harder then ever to staff for ministry.

The Biblical guidance concerning this problem is two fold: Pray (Matt. 9:38) and invest in faithful Christians who will teach others (2 Tim. 2:2; Titus 2:4). Praise God when, in answer to prayer, the Lord brings someone from outside the church to meet a need. But when Karen and I were missionaries I learned that, more often than not, leaders come from the harvest. Today’s disciple making yields tomorrow’s leadership. This is true of all levels of ministry from elders and pastors to teachers and team leaders.

The Leader Development Pipeline is a resource provided to GTBN through the North American Mission Board by which we help churches raise the next round of church leaders. We can help you to use the tools within your church, or you can refer potential leaders to a cohort with those of sister congregations.

Blake Alling serves GTBN as the Catalyst for Leadership and Planter Development. For more information, or to refer someone you see God’s hand on for the next cohort, email office@gtbn.us.
